Abstract Background Calmodulin (CaM) is one of the most important Ca2+ signaling receptors because it regulates diverse physiological and biochemical reactions in plants. CaM functions by interacting with CaM-binding proteins (CaMBPs) to modulate Ca2+ signaling.
